Building A Performance Plate: Easy Day

(1/3) Performance plates allow us to base our meals off of the intensity of our exercise/training throughout the day. LOOK BELOW TO SEE.



So what would an easy day performance plate look like? This would be, for an easy day of training(going for a walk/ doing yoga/ just breathing) or a rest day. This can also be used a guideline in periods of weight loss or when you are cutting weight for a weight class sport. 🤼‍♂️🏋🏽‍♀️🥊🥋

An easy day performance plate consists of: Color, carbs, protein, fat and not shown on this plate but still equally as important is water and spices/sauces aka FLAVOR!!




So why are color, carbs and protein so important?? 🥒🍅🥕🥔🍞🍚🥩🍗🥚

Color provides us with important micronutrients, vitamin/minerals, antioxidants, and fiber which helps keep us full. Carbs provide the main fuel source for our bodies needs. Protein is our building blocks and aids with muscle repair and recovery.

On an easy day, we are filling our plates with more fruits & veggies because our bodies require less carbs. Figuring out how to build a performance plate based on your training can take time and practice so don’t be afraid to reach out if you have any questions!! 💭
